Get Involved Our Campaigns Featured Campaign Trash Interceptor x2 We already contributed to getting a trash interceptor installed at the mouth of the San Diego Creek to protect Newport’s Back Bay, Harbor, and Upper Newport Bay Nature Reserve. (Concept on the right). Now we are working with elected officials, two counties, multiple cities, and various heads of public works to get two more in our area. Making your donations help protect our section of the Ocean, waves, and beaches. The next location will be the inside the San Gabriel River which splits LA County in half with the help of Assembly Members Diane Dixon and Josh Lowenthal, Supervisor Andrew Do, the Cities of Seal and Long Beach, and LA/OC Public Works. After that we will be working on having one inside the Santa Ana River stopping trash that flows down from Big Bear to the border of Huntington/Newport Beach. Our Programs 12.31.23 YTD Totals It’s Kind of a Big Deal Year to Date we have removed over 32,200 lbs. of trash in 2023. Learn More Our Campaigns Featured Campaign Phasing Out Single Use Plastics in Irvine We are working with the City of Irvine to craft an ordinance to phase out non-essential single use plastics. If passed it will be the most comprehensive plastic waste reduction act in Southern California.
